Incredible! A Masterpiece! I love this game! Please check out my channel!

Thanks for playing, loved the video!

I loved this game. I loveeeed the art style!! If its your final project, you better have gotten an A+!!!

This is LIT! I'm glad to see that you enjoyed the style!

I really want play this but unfortunately for me, the subtitles display too slowly. Before the text is even done with its current sentence, the voice over is 3-4 sentences ahead and the text disappears and moves onto the next line before it finishes. This becomes a problem at the very beginning where you take your first phone call. I can hear Sherwood fine but the voice over from the person on the phone is muffled and the subtitles only display a tiny bit of what the person is saying. By the end of the call I have no clue what they said or what I'm doing.

Thanks for the feedback! Yes unfortunately the issue with the dialogue apparition seems to be dependent on the performance of your computer. I will see if I can do an option to disable the autoskip feature in the next patch.

I specifically made this account just to say thank you! I further was wondering if you have posted any breakdowns of how you achieved the look of the game?  e.g tutorials, techniques/methods you used and so on? At first this looked like you'd used Photogrammetery but I honestly don't know. Stay amazing bro.

Hey! I recently posted a breakdown thread on my twitter :)

Awesome plot and aesthetics, loved it!!

One thing i want to suggest is an objective bar which helps player to know what needs be done or to be interact with. As the objective pop up disappears very quickly.

Thanks for the feedback and for playing the game as well!

Absolutely loved it! I absolutely adore the artstyle of the game! I'm a sucker for games like these haha! the concept was really cool, the sounddesign and the lighting were very well done and the story was awesome! While playing it I was just amazed by the looks of it throughout the entire game! Overall a very great game! I really had a lot of fun playing it! Very well done!

Thank for playing the game and I really love the reaction at the end! Cheers

all right,but I like it.(smile)

Umm, I'm not exactly sure what to do to fix this. I tried deleting and redownloading the game as well.

Hi, thanks for reaching out! Can I take a look at your computer specifications?

No problem! Here you go.

Thanks! Could you try to adjust the brightness slider in the settings and see if it works?

Okay! I'll try that,  just now saw this lol.

It didn't change anything

This game is amazing 100/100

Thanks for playing :)

I loved the art style of the game, what did inspire you to do that? The theme, feel and settings where top notch. This has potential for more. Keep the good work, sure will keep an eye on your future projects! Loved both endings btw.

The two biggest inspiration for the game were from The Last Night and BioShock. Glad you liked it and thanks for the gameplay video!

Nice to meet you. I'm Miko, a Japanese Vtuber.
Can I post a play video of this nice game on YouTube?

Hey, feel fee to do so! If you don’t mind could you share it here as well?

Thank you very much. We will support you though it is a small amount.

When done, I'll share it here!

It will be delivered from 20:00 on May 12, Japan time.
After that, it will automatically remain in the archive, so I pasted the link first.

Thank you! Will check it out once it's out :)

I found an easter egg! With those who has 9 lives.

Nice you managed to play!

I have to say, this art work is really my type. The music was spot on, same with the dialogue and just everything to be honest. I wish it was longer 'cause I just can't get enough of it!

Hope you release something new soon, hopefully something a bit longer? Anyways looking forward to whatever you release in the future.

Really glad you enjoyed it. Stay tuned!

He said "Can I make a video of this game on YouTube?"

This is one of the only non-horror games that I have played on I loved this game, I wish it was a bit longer, but I understand it is still in development. I enjoyed the vibe, the music, the voice acting, etc. An amazing game from start to finish, I made a video for it as well, hope you see it Mr. Lee.

Thank you! Loving those edits :)

Kind of short but so much fun, the style, the graphics, the music, the voice acting, everything's just so good!

Really glad you liked it!

This was really fun to play. I look forward to seeing your next game.

Wow! just Wow! this game is amazing

After you unarchived the application:

1. If you have the message: "The application can't be opened.", open the Terminal app:

Execute these commands:

Command 1: cd Downloads

Command 2: chmod u=rwx

2. Right click the application and choose "Open".

3. For the very first run, the game may took a couple of minutes to launch. It will look freezed but it actually loading and unpacking needed resources.

Developer note:

The +x right is missing for the binary in the app bundle.

You can include chmod u=rwx command in the script which pack the binary to the bundle.

Thanks for this! Will update in the next patch.

Discovered Timeout on twitter a while ago. I've been waiting for that game to be released! I really loved some ideas and aspects of the game, there is a super interesting lore behind all this.
The only problematic issue I had was with the dialog text apparitions. They were slowed down by my computer, so they were not synchronised with the voice acting. But I was still able to hear and understand what the characters were saying so I still got the story and a good immersion :D!

Thank you for sharing this super nice story and atmosphere, and also for this lovely main song!

Thank you for the feedback and I really appreciate it. With regards to the delayed text apparitions - it is dependent on the performance of the computer!

Hi there! I bought your game yesterday and I try to play it today but I don't know what is going on but all I can see is white with a few shadows...I can see the menus, the cursor, everything but the game...please help...(I'm trying to play it on windows 10 X64.

Hi there, sorry to hear that! I have just updated a newer version which includes some bug fixes. Could you try and see if that works?

Hi Christopher! Thank you for your reply :). I downloaded the new version (I can see that you added a few more options to the menu)...but I still can't see the in-game images, but i can see the texts...It's really weird...I'm adding some images that might explain it better.

Thanks for the screenshots! Can I check what are your specifications?

Of course :)

OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro

GPU: Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz, 3401 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)

RAM: 32.0 GB

DirectX version: DirectX 12

Hey, this is my first comment in itchIO and congrats for the game. Fun, beautiful, good message ... all in the right time. Hope you keep creating more games. I am a veteran developing games and this is a really good project. Cheers.

Thanks for taking the time to play and comment! Hope you enjoyed it :)

Yes, really good and also supported it ;) you should add to Steam, even as a free game. Cheers.

Damn, this game looks amazing and has great atmosphere! Really loved the influences you took from Bioshock and The Last Night. (Which isn’t even released yet at the time of this comment!) I got invested in the world and by the time I was finished, I wanted to know even more about it! I made a video with my commentary and experiences, keep up the amazing work! This was something special.

Thanks for playing the game, I find your takeaways from the game to be quite interesting as well!

Absolutely stunning!

Thank you!

The Linux build worked well except for when there was lightning and rain where it stuttered a little

My system:

OS: Pop!_OS 20.04

CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-7700K CPU @ 4.20GHz × 8

GPU: GeForce GTX 1080

RAM: 16GB DDR4 2400 MHz

Edit: Found one problem - turning on vsync makes the screen go black but the menu works.

Strange issue, seems to be happening only for the linux build!

I tried the new update. The vsync is working fine now. The one problem I faced was the quit option in the in-game menu doesn't work but it works fine in the main menu.

Thanks for this, will get a fix!

(1 edit)

Hi, I again tested it but the vsync problem has again popped up. Actually I didn't test it properly last time. The problem started when I first ran the app and clicked the vsync option multiple times. The in-game quit button is working now.

Thanks for this, will see what I can do.

what happen when time run out? maybe they won't die and go to somewhere work for time

Very nice! Great cinematic feel and loved some of the background character setpieces, they really gave the spaces personality.

Thank you!

Wow! Super stylish. I noticed that you can get stuck if you run straight up right when you leave your office, behind the ladder. The voice acting/visuals/music were great!

Well done :)

Awesome, thanks for the feedback! Would definitely have loved to see a gameplay video.

The Linux build seems to crash after a few seconds (right on the main menu).

Here's the console output from the executable:

My system:

OS: Ubuntu 20.04

RAM: 8GB DDR4 2666MHz

GPU: RX 590

CPU: Ryzen 3 2200g

I don't really know why this is happening as Unity should bundle everything with the program so that it would be irrelevant which distribution I use.

Also, the crash doesn't always happen at the same time, sometimes I can stay a while longer in the menu without any issues until I select an option or move the cursor to another option without clicking it.

Another thing: When I manage to start the game before it crashes, the game runs at literally about 1 FPS (well it basically just freezes but sometimes continues for a couple of milliseconds).

Hey! Let me get back to you with this, Linux might take awhile to be fixed. In the meantime, do you have any other OS to play it on?

Sure! I use Linux as my main OS but I still have Windows left where I usually play some games that won't work on Linux otherwise.

Finally, been following you since your first entry on the pixel art subreddit and seeing it coming out is really ecxiting! Can't wait to play it

Thank you, your following means a lot to me. I hope you enjoy the game!

Let me know if there are any issues opening the files - Especially for Mac and Linux!

My Laptop is MacBook Pro Catalina

Open up file then show this popup

Here's the fix for Mac!

1. Unzip using the Unarchiver

2. A move to bin prompt will appear once you click the game. Hit cancel.

3. Head to security and privacy settings > General and select "Open Anyway".

4. Launch TimeOut

Hey Christopher. Just a heads up that this only works if you use the software you state; The Unarchiver. I tried it with the Archive Utility tool and assumed it'd have no impact on running that game, and it still didn't work. After installing The Unarchiver it worked fine. So if any Mac users come to you saying it still doesn't work, make sure the first question is |did you use The Unarchiver"

Thanks for verifying the Mac instructions! Looking to see if I can get a fix on this issue on the next update.

no problems so far on linux mint

In MacOS build, the +x right is missing for the binary in the app bundle.

Thanks, let me know if you enjoyed it!

Wow! This looks absolutely impressive!!

Thanks for your kind comment!

Hype here too!

It's now released!

Hype! :DD

It's now released, try it out and let me know what you think!
